COMPARE FREE LIMB APPLICATION
An individual who has sustained an injury to the arm and fully severed either the brachial, radial, or ulnar artery has a window of approximately 60 seconds to stabilize the limb before decreasing blood pressure renders the individual unconciousness. Shock can set in even sooner. Achieving full occlusion in the shortest time possible is critical. Faster application means the injured are stabilized sooner and/or more victims can be saved.
COMPARE TRAPPED/MANGLED LIMB APPLICATION
An individual who has sustained an injury which does not allow a tourniquet to clear the damage must open and refasten the tourniquet proximally (closer to the center of the body). This can hapen if the limb is trapped under a heavy object or mangled from an injury. Only the THOR TQ met the 60 second window test, and fully stopped blood flow in 20 seconds. In preliminary testing, the RMT proved to be significantly better than anything else currently on the market and achieved full occlusion in 65 seconds.
